The picturesque town of Beaumaris on the island of Anglesey, is situated to the east of the Menai Straights and overlooks the magnificent Snowdonia mountain range.
Beaumaris is home to its world famous Castle, a gloriously ambitious fortress and a world heritage site which UNESCO considers to be one of “the finest examples of military architecture in Europe.”
There are other places of great historical interest in the town including the 19th century Beaumaris Gaol (jail) and the 17th century Beaumaris Courthouse, one of the oldest and most fascinating courthouses in Britain.
Beaumaris has a wide variety of cafes, restaurants and pubs so you’ll never be short of places to eat and drink and for those of you who love the high street there are a number of delightful gift shops and galleries.
For anyone feeling energetic you can take to the cycle routes and footpaths around the island and even take advantage of the beautiful coastline by trying your hand at water sports.
Anglesey is packed full of interesting places to visit including the Anglesey Sea Zoo, The National Trust property at Plas Newydd and Newborough Beach and Forest and all of them are within a short drive of Ty Coed.
